Berkshire Contractor LLC is a family-owned and operated Design/Build firm.
Teri and Jim Weber co-founded the company in 1986. With over 30 years experience, their mission is to build beautiful, custom homes.
Jim Weber has been a professional woodworker since 1976. His experiences while teaching Furniture Design & Building, in Poughkeepsie, NY, led him to open a successful, custom furniture shop and retail gallery on Martha’s Vineyard.
Over the years, he expanded into building residential houses and commercial spaces, all while applying the skill of the fine, woodworker artisan. Jim's experience as a craftsman, inventive background, and attention to detail sets Berkshire Contractor a cut above the rest.
Miles Weber is a partner, designer, and project leader at Berkshire Contractor LLC. He has worked for over a decade as a carpenter, foreman, and designer. His experiences gave rise to the conviction that a house should live at the threshold of function and form, shaped by the modern pressures that now define how we build: climate, technology, and sustainability.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Thought and Political Economy from UMass, earned while working as a foreman on his father's crews. That combination is the foundation of his approach. He reads a house as a system before he reads it as an assembly. Construction tolerances and structural feasibility are always in mind from the first sketch forward. Miles utilizes 3-D structural designs from the start, so clients can see potential structures in detail, inside and out, before they are built.
Over the past five years, Miles has focused on designing, creating and building his own home, among others. His work spans over two dozen projects across the Berkshires.
